Sunrises and sunsets are my favorite subjects to shoot, I like them for many reasons. The colors are really amazing and always changing. They are unpredictable - many times I have setup for what I hoped would be a great sunrise at 5 AM and have it be a total bust. They are also technically challenging to find the best vantage point.

I started using "High Dynamic Range" (HDR) software that combines multiple shots to capture the full range of light (I will write a blog post on the HDR technique soon as well on some tips on shooting sunrises and sunsets). In this gallery are sunrise and sunsets from Hawaii, Tucson and Edmonds (Seattle) where we live.
